Job Description Summary

Works under general supervision to physically set up meeting and dining rooms with tables, chairs, and audiovisual equipment, for meetings and special events.

Job Description

Essential Functions:
  • Sets meeting and dining rooms with equipment and materials, including tables, chairs, glasses, water, pencils, writing pads, audiovisual equipment, etc.
  • Transfers equipment to/from locations using a variety of motor vehicles.
  • Removes and replaces furniture as needed.
  • Stores equipment and materials properly and in the correct areas.
  • Provides ice and water to meeting rooms.
  • Empties trash from meeting rooms and function areas.
  • Picks up and returns linens from Housekeeping.
  • Vacuums meeting rooms.
  • Inspects all conference equipment for defects, cleanliness, or any maintenance that needs to be completed and reports to the supervisor.
  • Sets lighting, props, floral arrangements, decorations, etc., to support the needs of the Special Projects staff.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • High school graduate plus two years related hospitality experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, understand and follow safety procedures.
  • Ability to organize priorities.
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to work as a team member, and independently.
  • Ability to operate a variety of motor vehicles, including golf carts, vans, & pickup trucks with/out trailers.
  • Must have a valid driver's license with a good driving record; must be insurable.
Physical Requirements: Heavy work: Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Balancing, stooping, reaching, standing, walking, lifting, grasping, talking, and hearing. Required to have visual acuity to perform an activity where the seeing job is at or within arm's reach. Subject to both environmental conditions: activities occur both inside and outside.
