Job Summary
Monitors all University parking areas and reports unusual conditions. Tracks possible policy and rule violations, issues citations, immobilizes vehicles, and relocates vehicles. Empties meters and collects fees. Provides information, directions, and assistance to the public. Assists with special events and performs general office tasks.
Essential Functions
- Monitors parking areas for illegally parked vehicles, space utilization, and lot conditions; observes and reports unusual conditions and behavior.
- Tracks possible violations of policies, regulations, and rules of conduct; issues citations using a computerized ticketing system; immobilizes vehicles through the use of boot and relocates vehicles as directed; maintains proper records and reports of disabled vehicles; works in coordination with others to verify permits.
- Reports all missing and damaged equipment; notifies appropriate personnel of necessary repairs; gives recommendations for improvements regarding signage, parking lot reorganization, and other issues.
- Provides information, directions, and assistance to the public; unlocks and jump-starts vehicles; removes boots; performs simple vehicle maintenance.
- Assists with special event duties including traffic control, payment, lot usage monitoring, and placement/removal of signs, barricades, and ropes.
- Performs general office duties, including answering the telephone, logging complaints, recordkeeping, and data entry; assists with dispatch and telecommunication duties.
