Director of the Fund for Oneonta
The Division of University Advancement at the State University of New York at Oneonta invites applications for the position of Director of the Fund for Oneonta. Reporting to the Director of Development, the Director of the Fund for Oneonta is a key member of SUNY Oneonta's development and fundraising staff. This position will provide leadership and strategic management of SUNY Oneonta's annual giving program, the Fund for Oneonta. This includes the development, design, and execution of a comprehensive annual fundraising program to increase the number of donors to the Fund for Oneonta.
The Division of University Advancement works to raise charitable gifts and grants, strengthen alumni programs, traditions and networks, and build sustaining long-term relationships that enhance the financial resources, reputation, and visibility of the university. Duties include but are not limited to:
- Lead the development and implementation of strategies that increase the number of donors who contribute to the Fund for Oneonta and other programs from alumni, students, friends, staff, faculty, and parents on an annual basis.
- Develop written and electronic solicitation content, including direct mail, email, Phonathon scripts, and social media ads to expand SUNY Oneonta's donor base and increase giving.
- Supervise the Assistant Director of the Fund for Oneonta, including that position's management of the Phonathon calling program and SUNY Oneonta's student giving program.
- Develop and execute programs for special fundraising events and campaigns.
- Analyze qualitative and quantitative data from multiple sources to drive continuously improved fundraising performance.
- Communicate fundraising plans and results to the Director of Development, Vice President for University Advancement, Director of Alumni Engagement, SUNY Oneonta Foundation Board of Directors, and SUNY Oneonta Alumni Association Board of Directors.

Requirements:
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- At least three years of professional experience in a fundraising, marketing, or strategic communications role
- Experience utilizing digital communications
- Excellent written communication skills
- Experience supervising professional staff members
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred:
- Experience writing fundraising messages and content
- Experience utilizing Blackbaud's Raiser's Edge NXT or similar CRM database
- Experience working with VanillaSoft or similar sales engagement software
- Experience planning events
- Experience working with and serving diverse populations.
