East Stroudsburg University is hiring a Student Information System Coordinator! Located in the beautiful Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania, ESU's proximity to New York City and Philadelphia provides convenient access to internships, careers and social activities. As the Student Information System Coordinator, you will need to think creatively and be comfortable coordinating and supporting operations of the student information system. You will be an active member of the Enrollment Management team and will work closely with the Registrar to improve, implement, and integrate technological initiatives vital to the success of the division's goals. You will thrive in this role if you like combining your clerical and interpersonal experience while assisting in the maintenance of the student information system. To be successful in this role, you must have strong organizational skills, effective communication, and the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.

Your normal hours will be Monday to Friday 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. You may have to flex your schedule from time to time based on the needs of the business to be a true Student Information System Coordinator. What Will I Do At ESU? (AKA Essential Duties)
  • Coordinate the operations of the technical systems used by Enrollment Management which includes but is not limited to the Banner Student module Degree Works, SLATE, and Parchment.
  • Serve as backup to the functional leads for setup and use of systems.
  • Assist with the development of training materials and training session coordination for staff and ensure optimal system utilization with the student information system functionality resulting from system upgrades; prepare and update user-oriented documentation for use by Office of the Registrar's Office staff members.
  • Assist with assessing technological needs and recommended upgrades; assist in the design, testing, and implementation of systems and functions used by the student information system.
  • Manage and update all aspects of web including the myESU portal and public web pages.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge and understanding of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA); explain provisions of this legislation to individuals as appropriate.
  • Confirm and conduct FERPA training for faculty and new staff. Assist with determining user role in the SIS, work with IT to coordinate and maintain security requirements as users' duties change or users are separated from their positions.
  • Serve as the back-up security officer to the Registrar for data in the student information system for which the office is responsible.
  • Research and coordinate the development of systems and procedures for electronically transferring data reports internally and externally.
  • Serve as liaison to IT in explaining, resolving, and communicating systems problems and/or solutions based on collaboration with end users.
  • Train new users on the SIS navigation and lead regular workshops on different general functionality and specific features of the SIS to end users including faculty, staff, and students.
  • Work in collaboration with the Office of Academic and Institutional Effectiveness on data clean-up and other data warehouse initiatives for federal, state, and local reporting.
  • Produce various operational statistical surveys and reports that may include, but are not limited to, Enrollment Service's Self-Study and Program Review, AACRAO Audit, and Strategic and Assessment Plans.
  • Performs related work as required.
What We're Looking For (AKA Qualifications)
  • 1+ year of progressively complex clerical functions and typing experience or 6+ months of experience of moderately complex clerical work or typing experience.
  • Completion of high school curriculum, which includes business courses and at least one typing course.
  • 1+ year in an office or clerical type role preferred.
  • Previous professional work experience in higher education preferred.
  • 1+ year of experience using Microsoft Office Suite in a professional work environment preferred.
  • Able to think critically and apply critical thinking skills to solve problems independently; make independent decisions that support the needs of the University and its students.
  • Ability to quickly pivot between work tasks when unplanned events occur that need immediate attention.
  • Valid PA Driver's License.
  • Able to read, write, and comprehend English; able to follow verbal instructions.
  • Experience with Word, Excel, Teams required.
